Green power project
Our Green power project is well underway in Oak class. This week we have been measuring the frame of the go-kart so that we can begin to make the bodywork.
We have decided our theme will be the rainforest.

Science
Oak class have been exploring electricity and resistance in circuits. The children were set several challenges to see who could make their bulbs the brightest.
Traditional South African song.
Oak class have been learning how to sing a traditional South African song called Shosholoza.
This song was originally sung by men who were working in the diamond and gold mines. It was sung in rhythm of the men swinging their axes to make the hard work feel easier.

Bikeability
Oak class enjoyed their level 2 bikeability training. They developed their skills for cycling on single lane roads such as observing, communicating and maintaining safe riding positions.
The instructors were particularly impressed with the behaviour of all our children.
Create and calm session.
Some of the children have taken part in a create and calm session today led by Kapella. They all enjoyed making their worry boxes which will be useful to help them manage their feelings. Great fun was had by all.
Retrofuturism
In Art we have been looking at Retrofuturism and creating our own vision of the future,inspired by Teis Albers. We made a collagraph plate to use to print a background for our artwork. Then we sketched our futuristic ideas ready to put onto our background.
NSPCC Visit- Speak Out, Stay Safe
A huge thank you to the NSPCC team who came in today to guide us through their Speak Out, Stay Safe workshop. It was an essential session teaching everyone the importance of recognising unsafe situations and knowing who to talk to.
