What a wonderfully creative time we’ve had during Art Week! This week, our classroom was full of imagination as we explored the work of pebble artist Erzsebet Szilajka.

Inspired by her beautiful creations, the children became artists themselves, using pebbles as the main feature of their artwork. We didn’t stop there though… we headed outside to explore our environment and collect natural treasures like leaves, twigs, and other interesting bits and pieces to bring our ideas to life.

The children carefully designed their pebble pictures, thinking about how they could use the shapes and sizes of the stones to represent different parts of their creations. Twigs became arms and legs, leaves turned into hair and clothing, and some even created hats, ears and fun accessories!

It was lovely to see how personal and meaningful the artwork became. Some children created pictures of their families, others showed scenes like walking the dog, and some chose to represent special people such as their Grandad. Every piece of artwork told its own unique story.

The classroom was filled with excitement, creativity and lots of proud smiles. The children showed fantastic imagination and really enjoyed the process of designing, creating and sharing their ideas with each other.

We are so proud of their beautiful pebble pictures – what talented young artists we have!
