This week, Reception took their maths learning outside to explore the numbers 4 and 5. The children had so much fun finding, making and representing these numbers in different ways using the resources around them.
They worked brilliantly together to make groups of 4 and 5 using tyres, dinosaurs, polos, sticks and other loose parts they discovered in our outdoor area. Once they’d made their groups, the children matched them to the correct numerals and proudly showed their work to their friends.
It was fantastic to see how confident everyone is becoming with counting carefully, recognising numerals, and representing numbers in creative ways. What a wonderful way to bring our maths learning to life!
