As part of our shape topic in Class One, EYFS have been exploring the exciting world of 3D shapes! The children have been busy sorting a variety of 3D shapes such as cubes, pyramids, cones, cylinders and spheres. Through hands-on activities, they’ve not only been learning the names of these shapes but also discovering their unique properties, like what shape their faces are. Sorting these shapes by size, colour and type has been a fantastic way to help children develop their shape recognition.
We encourage you to continue the learning at home by pointing out 3D shapes in everyday objects and discussing their features with your child.
