Image of Lighting the Way: Exploring Advent Wreaths in RE

This week, Class One took a meaningful journey into the season of Advent. We explored the tradition of the Advent wreath and learned about the special significance of its four candles. Each candle holds a unique meaning - hope, peace, joy and love - reminding Christians of the journey leading to the birth of Jesus.

The children were fascinated by how the circular wreath represents God’s unending love, and they shared thoughtful ideas about why this symbol is so important during Advent.

To bring their learning to life, the children created their own versions of an Advent wreath by following two step-by-step drawing tutorials. This hands-on activity deepened their understanding of Advent while celebrating the joy of the season.
