Exploring the Story of Rama and Sita

This week, Class One delved into the magical story of Rama and Sita, the story behind the Festival of Light, Diwali. Reception enjoyed listening to the story and brought it to life by carefully colouring a picture of Rama and Sita. They also amazed us with their recall skills, sharing parts of the story they remembered in their own words.

Year 1 focused on sequencing the key events of the story. They worked hard to put the events in order and confidently retold the story aloud, showcasing their growing storytelling skills. Year 2 took their learning a step further by using picture prompts to produce a wonderful piece of writing that retold the story of Rama and Sita.

It was a joy to see all the children so engaged and enthusiastic about learning the story behind Diwali.
