EYFS Maths: Measure (size)

In Maths, children in EYFS have been exploring measure and pattern. On Monday we looked at using the vocabulary big, little, large and small and had a teddy bears picnic to compare what size food the little and big bears would need. Today we used the language short and long to compare length and tall and short to compare height. In continuous provision the children applied their learning by making short and long trains in the construction area; tall and short towers and big and small houses in the Lego area. They also made big and small balls of dough at the play-dough station and sorted animals into big and small groups.
