This week in Maple Class, we spent time reflecting on the nativity story during our RE lessons. The children explored the key events of the Christmas story and talked about why it is important to Christians.

We then looked closely at a range of Christmas cards and discussed the different themes shown. The children sorted the cards into groups, identifying those with festive themes such as decorations and snow, and those with Christian themes linked to the nativity. This helped them to develop their understanding of different ways Christmas is celebrated and represented.

In Maths, we linked our learning to our current topic on shape. The children used their knowledge of 2D shapes to create pictures of the Three Wise Men. They carefully chose and combined shapes, showing creativity while also using mathematical language to describe their work.

It was lovely to see the children making connections across subjects and expressing their learning in such creative ways.
