What an absolutely bear-illiant afternoon we had at our recent Teddy Bears' Picnic Stay & Play!
We kicked off our adventure with a thrilling journey through a "swishy swashy" world as we read the classic tale, 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt!' The children were absolutely captivated, joining in with gusto, performing all the actions, and chanting those famous repetitive lines with huge smiles on their faces. It was a fantastic start to our themed afternoon!
Then it was time to get busy! Our little chefs donned their imaginary aprons and set to work making their very own delicious jam sandwiches. There was great concentration as they spread the jam right to the corners – a wonderful fine motor skill activity with a tasty reward!
The creativity didn't stop there! Our budding artists designed and crafted some truly adorable teddy bear collages. Using a variety of materials, each bear took on its own unique personality. We also had a fantastic range of other teddy bear-themed activities set up around the room, keeping everyone engaged and exploring. From counting teddy bears to building dens for them, there was something for everyone!
To round off our perfect picnic, we gathered together for the grand feast! We proudly munched on our handmade jam sandwiches and enjoyed some yummy teddy bear-shaped crisps with our friends. What's a picnic without a sing-along? We finished our lovely time together by singing some favourite nursery rhymes, including a very appropriate 'Teddy Bears Picnic'.
