This week in Maple Class, we had a wonderful time making pumpkin soup, inspired by our English topic book Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper.
The children followed a set of instructions carefully to make their own soup. They worked brilliantly as a team to chop the pumpkin and carrot into small cubes, then mash the chunks together before adding water and vegetable stock. Everyone showed great listening skills and careful cutting as they prepared the ingredients!
Once the soup was ready, the children had the chance to taste a small spoonful of their creation. Lots of children really enjoyed it — they described the flavour as “salty,” “tasty,” and “delicious!”
We are so proud of how well Maple Class followed the steps, worked together, and tried something new. Well done, little chefs!
