This week in PE, Maple Class had an action-packed fundamentals lesson exploring coordination and different types of jumps. The children were full of energy and enthusiasm as they worked on building their control, strength, and balance.
We began by learning and practising a variety of jumps, including:
- star jumps
- straight jumps
- tuck jumps
- jumping off one foot and landing on two feet
Each movement was modelled and practised carefully, with a focus on landing with control and keeping our balance.
After warming up our bodies, we moved on to using floor ladders to practise jumping into spaces with precision. The children loved the challenge of jumping in and out of the ladder rungs, focusing on timing, coordination, and control. It was great to see them encouraging one another and trying their best!
