In Computing this week, the children had a brilliant time learning all about technology. Together, we discovered that technology is anything made by people to help us do something.
To put this into practice, the children went on a technology hunt around the classroom. They worked so well and came back with a fantastic range of objects! Some of their finds included:
- Pencils – they help us to draw and write.
- Glue sticks – they help us to stick things together.
- Laptops – they help us to type, research and learn new things.
-
Calculators – they help us to check sums in maths.
Afterwards, the children worked together to sort objects into 'technology' and 'not technology', showing great thinking and teamwork.
It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored the idea that technology isn’t just computers and tablets, but also the everyday tools we use to help us learn, create and play.
