This week, Class One took part in a variety of engaging activities to celebrate Anti-bullying Week. The theme this year was “Choose Respect”. We kicked off the week by creating our very own ‘Kindness Tree’. Each child decorated a heart with acts of kindness they had shown or received and together we built a beautiful display reminding us that kindness can grow and spread to everyone around us.
On Odd Socks Day, the children designed their own pair of odd socks to celebrate the unique and special qualities that make each of them one of a kind. It was wonderful to see their creativity and hear the children share what makes them proud of who they are.
In our PSHE lesson, we explored what bullying is, how it can affect people and the importance of speaking up. The children learned what they can do if they see bullying happening, how to offer support to others and where to go for help. They shared thoughtful ideas and showed great empathy, demonstrating that even our youngest learners understand the importance of kindness and respect.
