Class One have been busy exploring the magic of autumn through art and creativity. Inspired by the season, the children used natural materials and lots of imagination to bring autumn to life in our classroom.
The children made hedgehogs and squirrels out of leaves they collected outside. Carefully choosing leaves of different shapes and sizes, they arranged them to create their very own woodland animals. There were spiky hedgehogs and bushy-tailed squirrels all around, reminding us of the animals we might spot as the weather turns colder.
They also created beautiful autumn trees using pom-poms and pegs to stamp vibrant red, orange, yellow and brown leaves onto tree outlines. The children loved experimenting with the different colours, seeing how they could layer them to mimic the changing autumn leaves.
Finally, they worked together to make a very special friendship pie. Children added “ingredients” like kindness, love, sharing, laughter, care and smiles to make the perfect pie.
It has been wonderful to see the children express their creativity, inspired by the beauty of the autumn season!
